Domain Tasting Is Out!

It's official - Google have finally done away with Domain Tasters around the World, to the delight of legitimate AdSense users.

Google has changed the rules of it's AdSense program, only allowing sites that are over 5 days old to utilize the AdSense program. The move has been taken to discourage Domain Tasting; registering domains with an Add Grace Period (a period of 5 days offered by some registraars in which a domain can be deleted and the registration fee be refunded) to test out their profitability with AdSense, then dumping them within the grace period if they're not deemed worthy.

This marks the end of an era of free money for many domain tasters, some who've managed to amass multi-million dollar fortunes on the back of this questionable practice. This is certainly a sign of Google cleaning up AdSense usage from their perspective, but ultimately is it going to end up costing them money too? Sure the ads were not being served on firm content, but I don't see how that makes the click-through any less legitimate on the side of the clicker or Google. The only gray area is the third party making money.

For now, domain tasters will have to find a new shade in which to dabble.
